Welcome to the weekly highlights and analysis of the blueteamsec subreddit.

Operationally this week was like any other with the background of ransomware across our markets. Outside of that wider Russian activity in Europe beyond the conflict zone has been observed.

In the high-level this week:

  • North Korean Cyberwarfare Officer Arrested in Vladivostok While Seeking Asylum - fascinating article - A ranking officer in one of North Korea’s elite military cyberwarfare units is being held in an undisclosed location in far eastern Russia after Moscow’s agents thwarted his attempt to defect, according to sources familiar with the matter and documents.

  • Preliminary Remarks of Modern Spyware by the European Data Protection Supervisor - NSO’s Pegasus and more comes under some scrutiny. Given the fall out of NSO arming cyber children with Uzis we can expect it doesn’t end here.

  • Hearing on "China’s Cyber Capabilities: Warfare, Espionage, and Implications for the United States" - this happened in the US …
